وأكدت شركة تروبيك اير أن إحدى طائراتها اصطدمت بسيارة كانت تعبر نهاية المدرج، حيث كانت تقلع من مهبط مطار بلاسنسيا هذا الصباح. وأدى فقدان السرعة الجوية اللاحق إلى قيام الطيار بالهبوط الاضطراري في المياه بعد نهاية المدرج
. جميع الركاب 7 وأفراد الطاقم آمنة.
وقد وضعت هيئة مطارات بليز الحواجز واللافتات في مهبط الطائرات في بلاسنسيا لمنع وقوع مثل هذه الحوادث

Tropic Air has affirmed that one of our air ship cut a vehicle, that crossed the finish of the runway, as it was taking off from the Placencia airstrip at the beginning of today. The consequent loss of velocity brought about the pilot directing a constrained arriving in the water past the finish of the runway. Every one of the 7 travelers and group individuals are sheltered.
The Belize Airports Authority had put obstructions and signage set up at the Placencia airstrip to avert simply such an event.
